A week at Sladebrook

There are plenty of activities at Sladebrook, providing opportunity for everyone to get involved! Here are some of the highlights; most of these happen most months but not necessarily every week!

Sunday morning family service

This is the main occasion in the week when the whole church family comes together for praise, worship and teaching. Every couple of months this takes the form of Cafe Church, a more informal occasion where the chairs are rearranged around tables and the morning includes plenty of coffee and cake!

Junior Church

After the first part of the morning service, the children go off for their own sessions to enjoy learning through stories, craft, games and singing. All our Junior Church helpers are DBS checked.

Communion

We believe that remembering the death of the Lord Jesus by sharing communion together is a vital part of our life and worship, and so we do so most weeks. Most often communion is taken during the morning service, and all who love the Lord Jesus are welcome to join with us for that. We share bread together, and drink wine from indivudual cups whilst celebrating our oneness in Christ.

Fellowship Lunch

The second Sunday of most months sees our "Bring and Share" lunch following the morning service; everyone is welcome to stay and share the food, fun and fellowship.

Look Out!

Our newest venture is a monthly opportunity to learn about some aspect of God's work in the wider world, perhaps through a visiting speaker or a video. We get together on a Sunday afternoon and enjoy a cuppa and some cakes as we broaden our outlook.

Orangery

Once a month a small group from Sladebrook visit our local care home (The Orangery) to lead a short service and spend time with the residents.

Ladies Prayer Meeting

The ladies of the church get together monthly to pray for one another and for the work of the church.

Sladebrook4Men

This is an opportunity for the men to meet for a varied programme includng social activities and Bible study.

Home Groups

There are currently three different groups meeting during the week in one another's homes, to study the Bible together, to pray for one another, and to encourage each other in our individual lives. New members are always welcome - have a word with one of the elders!

Church Prayer

On the last Thursday of the month, instead of meeting in separate home groups, we meet altogether at the church specifically to pray.

Refresh

The church is open on a Friday morning from 10:30-12:30 for coffee, chat and light lunches. All are welcome - feel free to pop in!

Messy Church

Messy Church provides an opportunity for families (especially those with younger children) to have fun on a Saturday afternoon, hearing a Bible story and getting involved with craft activities etc. A hot meal is provided as well! Watch for dates and times of the next messy event!
