Church Leadership

Responsibility for leading the church is split between the Leadership team and the Elders.  The Leadership team are responsible for the day to day running of the church. They meet regularly to pray, plan the church's regular programme, and initiate new activities.  The Elders' role is to offer prayer, pastoral insight and care, along with providing support and advice to the Leadership team.

Leadership team

Jeremy Steeds

Jeremy has been our full time church worker since June 2005.  He is married to Wendy, and they have a cat called Tinkerbell.  His day off is Saturday, but apart from that he can be contacted at most times.  He supports Liverpool FC (but don't hold that against him!).

Chris Martin

Chris is married to Sally and they have two teenage children. He has lived in Bath for most of his life, but he and the family spent 3 years living in Idaho, USA.  Chris often leads the worship on Sunday mornings, hiding behind a guitar...

Elders

John Martin

John is the church secretary, and is responsible for arranging visiting speakers, dealing with church correspondence, and generally keeping things running smoothly.  He is married to Jean, and they have three grown-up children.

John Richardson

John and his wife Iris have been at Sladebrook since moving to Bath from London in the early seventies.   After a busy working life, John is now enjoying an even busier retirement!  John and Iris usually host one of the weekly home group meetings.

Fred Mears

Fred is our Welsh import and brings a wealth of wisdom and experience to the team.  Fred's wife Joyce is renowned as an excellent cake maker, and Fred does an great job as chief cake taster!
